Student Wellbeing
At Staines Memorial College, we aim to create a safe and supportive disciplined learning environment which encourages students to make better choices and provides the opportunity for students to take responsibility for their own learning and behaviour.
Student
wellbeing is an important part of our College life. We recognise that developing a healthy sense
of wellbeing is fundamental to a student's success: academically, emotionally,
physically and spiritually. Our student wellbeing program focuses on developing
quality Christian character and appropriate behaviours.
Our Mission
Statement expresses our intention for learning. We desire that learning takes
place in an atmosphere of love, peace, respect and discipline. We aim to have a
learning environment where students experience success and enjoyment in their
learning, and where staff can do their jobs effectively with a reasonable sense
of fulfilment. Also, we aim to have an environment which is a safe and happy
place to be. We believe achievement, presentation and behaviour in the College
should clearly reflect Christian, God-honouring values, and compare well with
standards normally expected in independent schools.
We offer a
range of holistic practices that develop student wellbeing as an extension of
our Character Development program, such as:
- Chaplaincy
- Counselling services
- Student Leadership opportunities
- Camping program
- Mission and Service based programs
- Behaviour Development and Social Skill programs
