Spiritual Formation

A key value for our College focuses on Relationships. We believe that the most important thing in your life is your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our vision is for every student to pursue a growing relationship with Jesus and develop a Biblical Worldview through which they make sense of the world.

We seek to develop a lasting rich relationship with God which will influence everything that we do (Luke 12:13-21). This involves loving others as Jesus loves us (Mark 12:30-31). For this reason we have embedded practical teaching, private disciplines and personal ministry into our culture.

Practical Teaching

God, in his word, the Bible, instructs us to seek spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:8-11). This involves knowing what you do, and why you do it (1 Peter 3:15), and knowing what you believe and why you believe it (1 John 5:20, Acts 17:11). This is related to our value of Reasoning

Chapel and Biblical Living lessons present the Bible in practical terms. The Biblical story is the story of how the creator God is rescuing creation from its rebellion, brokenness, corruption and death. He has accomplished this through the death and resurrection of Jesus in fulfilment of the promises made to his people. We seek to share this good news to students and the wider community through Biblical Living lessons, Chapel and other organised activities. When Jesus taught, he taught for life change. He was after an active and living faith. Our goal is to help our students view the world through the lens of the Bible.

Private Disciplines

At our College we encourage students in the private disciplines of reading the Bible and praying. In our Pastoral Care classes we share regular devotions and teachers share their personal reflections. We encourage student-led devotions and provide structures to help students engage with the Bible on their own. Our Chaplains regularly provide resources for students to deepen in their faith. We also encourage staff and students to pray with one another.
