Sport at SMC
Staines Memorial College encourages students to participate in sport wherever possible, whether it be as part of a team or as an individual. Staines recognises the values, skills and attributes that students can learn by being involved in sporting opportunities. Values that inspire College pride and understanding that spiritual gifts can be used in different formats. Sport can assist in balancing a student’s academic life and teach skills that relate to leadership, community, and commitment.
Staines’ sports promote sportsmanship, team spirit as well as health and fitness. Through various avenues students at Staines can progress to District (Central Comets), Regional (Met West), State (Queensland) and National (Australia) representative honours.
