Below is a list of helplines that may be of interest and use, available to young people and their parents:

Kids Helpline

Kids Helpline is Australia’s only free, private and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.

Counselling is currently offered by phone 1800 55 1800 , Webchat, and email.

Teens Helpline

No problem is too big or too small. The Teens Helpline is there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Headspace

Young Adults Helpline (18 - 25 yr old)

Access resources and confidential counselling - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

ParentLine

Support, counselling and education for parents.

Mental Health Access Line

Phone the mental health access line 1300 MH CALL (1300 642255), a confidential mental health telephone triage service for Queenslanders that provides the first point of contact to public mental health services.

Medicare rebates are available for a range of mental health treatments, including up to 10 individual consultations and up to 10 group therapy sessions with a mental health professional. You’ll need a referral from a general practitioner, psychiatrist or paediatrician to be eligible.

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope.
